Introducing our latest winner…

A big congratulations to our latest winner Adrake and his film Run! Adrake is now the proud owner of a Flip Mino HD Camera, $500 and a bunch of other DS goodies. This is an awesome “action” inspired film, with a twist. Check it out here.

How to vote?

It seems some people are finding the voting system a little confusing…so I thought I’d provide a definitive explanation of how to go about it:

To vote for a video you need to login and visit the “contests” tab at the top of the page.
Once there you will see each video in the contest has a first, second and third button below it.
To vote simply rank the videos you choose as first, second and third by clicking on the appropriate button.
You will not receive a confirmation but if you log out and then in again you will see that your voting preferences remain highlighted and can also be changed if desired right up until voting closes.

Please note that voting is entirely separate from star rating system that appears on the individual video page. Members are not able to see the vote count for the contest but they can see the ratings.

One more time now…to vote you MUST login and visit the contest page.

and of course, keep getting those votes in.

So once again, due to lack of entries we are extending our current contest deadline until the 12 of Jan, so you’ve got all Christmas holidays to prepare your fine entries…so get preparing and Merry Christmas! A big thank you to all those that have entered and their excellent entries.

The good, the bad and…some t-shirts?

The bad news…

Docsniper.com has been up and running for 6 months now. We would like to extend a big thank you to those members who have uploaded videos and contributed, particularily those who have entered our contests. Unfortunately we still aren’t getting many entries into our comps, which makes it pretty difficult for us to stay up and running as we are.

So we’re putting a call out: basically if you want to see our video comps continue then get entering and upload!

The good news…

We are not going anywhere! But we are changing tack a little.

Soon we will be starting up a t-shirt design comp. We’ll be asking for t-shirt designs submissions (free entry) and we will upload them to our Doc Shop for the world (wide web) to purchase. Of course there will still be a winner and they will still receive a prize as usual.

You can check out the range that we have “prepared earlier” at our Doc Shop and we are looking forward to adding your designs to the shop!

Our designs are there as a starting point for you, there is no theme to this comp so anything goes!

Here’s a quick guideline to preparing your submissions:

Must be saved as .png, .jpg, .bmp, or .gif (transparent formats, i.e. .gif or .png, are preferred). We also accept vector files, see below for details.
Must have a minimum resolution of 200 dpi
Must not exceed a maximum size of 3000 x 3000 pixels
Must not exceed a maximum file size of 10 mb
Vector files must be created with no more than 3 colours, be converted to curves and be saved as .eps file. Visit here for more info
Most importantly, your designs must be original…no ripping off other peoples hard work!

Now that all the formalities are out of the way…get designing and stay tuned!

Make Some Noise

So we now have the next contest up and running. We’ve got three excellent entries already and can’t wait to see what else is out there.

We’ve had soo many new members sign up over the last month, why haven’t we seen your videos?! Come on, stop holding out on us

The theme is music, so include it somewhere in your video, with sound, image or text, however you want to do it and the winner will dance away with a Doc Sniper prize pack that includes $500, a Sony Flip Mino HD camera plus Doc merchandise. There’s three week and fours days to go so get filming and get uploading.

Also if anyone has suggestions for next months comp, let me know! We’re all about listening to what our members want, because without you guys we wouldn’t be here.

Seeing Red contest winner!

We are very proud to announce our next contest winner: Red by Shawn Jennings.
